A NEW TALKING HEADS SERIES BY TALENT UNDER HARDSHIP

ALAN BENNETT & JIMMY MCGOVERN INSPIRE

TO EXPLORE HATE & LOVE IN “ALL THE FEELS”

18th May 2020 – London

The Hate2Love Collective (H2LC), led by a cohort of British actors and creatives who call the UK home, presents its inaugural pilot show ‘All The Feels’. A spirited version of ‘Talking Heads’, inspired by the revolutionary work of English playwright, Alan Bennett and “The Streets” producer and screenwriter Jimmy McGovern, to be performed live via a zoom webinar at 7pm GMT on the 26th May 2020.  Followed by a live Q&A with its cast and production.

“All the Feels” will be featuring monologues and vignettes of original work from emerging talent: actors, writers and creatives from around the UK.

H2LC is a new not-for profit British theatre, performance and production company with aims to expand globally. The idea was to gather and explore the emotions between extreme hate and love and we slowly blossomed from there. We aim to create a platform to promote unknown, emerging and existing talent. We especially want to support the creatives who rise from hardship but who are not being seen.

The British Creative industries which are worth £110 billion, are struggling to survive Covid-19. At a time when theatres have been forced to close their doors and actors and many creative freelancers have been left without work, H2LC has endeavored not to give up on supporting new artists and their creativity.

In workshops over ‘Zoom,’ the performers and co-founders of the collective which started as early as January 2020, have been working tirelessly to explore the many variations of Love and Hate. Their discussions, along with input from grassroot guest speakers, who have shared their experiences of extreme Hate and Love, have subsequently inspired these creators to showcase their art.

This creative offering, will be performed over a ticketed webinar/live meeting and will last no longer than an hour and a half. The pilot show aims to give audiences a brief hiatus from the pandemic “mad” world we currently find ourselves in, whilst provoking thoughts on: “How simple is it to understand ‘Hate’ and ‘Love’?” “How are they tainted by other emotions? “Can one Hate and Love someone/thing at the same time?”

Founder & CEO Yasmin Choudhury commenting said: “All creatives do not get a fair chance to showcase their talent. Poverty, copyright theft and multiple complex disadvantages often combined, continue to prevent some of UK’s most talented from making it in the art world. Since Covid-19 it’s worse. The Hate 2 Love Collective and its Committee are proudly steering the way to smash barriers and shake up the arts scene. We urge casting directors, agents and business community to join us in our efforts to create and invest into new opportunities for those under hardship.”

Deputy CEO Amelia Parillon said: “Art has the power to expand minds, open hearts and influence lives for the better. Art should be for the masses, reflecting the true diversity of what it is to fully live. In order to achieve this inclusivity, art needs to be accessible; especially to those who grapple with hardships. If we band together and actively take a stand, we can open up the arts and I promise, we’ll be all the richer for it”

The “All The Feels” by H2LC will be a regular series. And the next shows are already scheduled to be performed on 28 July 2020 and 28 November 2020.  The pilot created in less than one month, has inspired contributions from guest speakers such as Ivan Humble, a former Far Right now Counter-Terrorist advisor and activist.  A midwife who works for the NHS.  A speech by Dan Biddle – one of the survivors of the 7/7 London terror attack who Yasmin met.  As well as many broken-hearted who shared their personal stories of being estranged from close relatives but wish to remain anonymous.  And men who explained how they have struggled to show vulnerability and have been victims of domestic abuse.
